Zanesville Alumni Association plan to improve ZHS Courtyard

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- The Zanesville High School Alumni Association is working to improve the courtyard at Zanesville High School.
While many trees have been planted in dedication of classes dating back to the 40s. the class of 62 has added a recent improvement with a couple of new planters. A representative of the class of 62, Wayne Carpenter, says the decision to improve the courtyard came from their latest reunion.
“A few months ago we decided and voted upon beginning an improvement program and as you see the planters here are the first step that we have made and the class of 62 joined in and helped sponsor this. They had a reunion a few weeks ago and had money left over and decided to put it into this project.”
Zanesville High School Principal, Laura Tompkins, is very thankful for the Alumni’s support in improving the High School and believes it will have a positive impact on students.
” I really think that coming into a building that looks clean and bright and beautiful males the kids feel good and I think once students feel good they are going to achieve more in the class rooms and be happy while they are here. So we wanna give them a place where they can be prideful and be a part of Zanesville.”
The Alumni Association will draft a plan for the courtyard in the near future and encourages all classes to participate.
