Zanesville City 1/2 Marathon

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The very first Zanesville Half Marathon will be held this Saturday and it is not too late to find your running shoes and register.
It has been a year long process of planning and Hannah Luburgh, Race Director, said they are all feeling relief that it is finally here and they are all very excited to see how it turns out.
“We do have the half marathon, the 5k, and the 1 mile run/walk so everybody can participate and they can register up until race morning so you have the rest of the week to register and then they can come and support of course, if you don’t want to run,” Luburgh said.
The start time is at 7 a.m. for the over 500 participants that have registered so far. It will begin and end on Market Street. That is where supporters can watch the racers take off and find the landing which will have music, food, beer and local vendors.
“The Muskingum County Community Foundation and Wellness and Recreation Cornerstone Committee has planned this event and the funds raised will benefit wellness and recreation organizations and opportunity in Muskingum County,” Luburgh said.
To find out more information about the run you can go to the Zanesville City Half Marathon Facebook or register on the Muskingum County Multi-sports Website.
