ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Today the Zanesville Civic League is hosting their 23rd annual Taste of Color in honor of black history month.
Members of the community came out to enjoy a variety of ethnic foods, and local entertainment.
“This is our 23rd celebration of black history month it’s called the taste of color. We have all genders of people that come out, if you can see in the background, and just celebrate. There’s good food, company and entertainment, and that’s what we want,” said Executive Director, Lisa Rooks.
Executive Director, Lisa Rooks says the end goal of putting on these events is to help benefit the children throughout the community.
“I would say the end goal is to increase our children in their artwork and learning about different things and for more people to come out. It shows that we are celebrating. It shows that we can come together. It also shows our kids with the artwork that you guys seen about diversity and things like that, and learning different things so I think it’s good for the community to come together,” said Rooks.
The annual taste of color served ribs, greens, desserts and much more.
