Zanesville Day Nursery Hosts Annual Witches Tea Fundraiser

ZANESVILLE, OH – A local day care center hosted a wicked tea party today.

The Zanesville Day Nursery hosted their 12th annual Witches Tea today at the Zanesville Country Club.

All of the proceeds from today’s Tea will go back to the Nursery to purchase necessary items for the children.

Nancy Beitzel, the President of the Board of the Zanesville Day Nursery, says the kids that they care for are the reason they host this fundraiser year after year.

“Since we’ve been in business, since 1915, we’re a nonprofit,” Beitzel explained. “And we’re for children of the community and of children of working families and even families who are going to school.”

In addition to lunch, guests were able to take part in a silent auction, a purse raffle, as well as a performance from some of the students.

Beitzel says she hopes everyone who attended the Witches Tea left with a happy heart, especially after the children’s pesentation.

“A lot of the people like to see the children.” Beitzel said. “In the past, we’ve also used a recording of them, but [the guests] have always said, we have little cards on the table for the different things that they thought were good, maybe some suggestions. A lot of people have said, ‘We love seeing the children! Could you please bring them back?’ so that’s the reason we have the children coming to make a little program for the attendees.”

Beitzel says they are already brainstorming ideas for next year’s Witches Tea.
