Zanesville District Golf Association Golf Show Raises Money for Scholarships

Zanesville District Golf Association Golf Show 2022

MUSKINGUM COUNTY, Ohio- The Zanesville District Golf Association conducted a golf show today at the Zanesville Country Club.

The golf show was a fundraiser that will go towards scholarships for local senior golfers who are going on to college.

Board member of the Zanesville District Golf Association, Lori Bubenchik said the association has been around since 1977 and they will be approaching $100,000 worth of scholarships given out.

“Young golfers need the chance to go to college without being out of debt, with big debt. You hear about getting big scholarships to play in school, but not everyone gets those big scholarships. They are still having to pay a lot out of pocket and we’re trying to help cover some of that cost,” Bubenchik stated.

The golf show included many vendors and golf courses along with raffles, silent auction and prize lockers and more.

Residents were also able to make donations out to the Zanesville District Golf Association junior golf.

“We appreciate all the vendors that come out and help us each year, they’re always so dependable. We appreciate the ZDGA staff that comes out and helps run this,” Bubenchik said. “Mike Durant, from Zanesville, is our chairman for this event and we couldn’t do it without him.”

Bubenchik said their first tournament will start in May and they are looking forward to the warm weather to come.
