Zanesville High School Finishes Last day of School
Zanesville High School wrapped up the 2014-2015 academic year May 29.
The school was quiet as seniors already took their victory lap early last week. The remaining students used the day to finish up exams and last minute projects. Principal Garry Young is especially excited to wrap up his first year at ZHS.
"I can’t believe that it’s may almost June already," said Young. "It seems like you guys were just here the first day and i was just starting and it’s all over with now so but we’re ready to transition into the next year."
The faculty is also preparing for Zanesville High School’s commencement ceremony May 30. Ohio Supreme Court Justice Maureen O’Connor is the keynote speaker. Young said that it will be an emotional night for the Blue Devil community.
"We had a great senior class this year," said Young. "I really enjoyed them. They were a very welcoming class…great kids. We’re sad to see them go," said Young.
Young looks forward to moving to the Zanesville area this summer and becoming a part of the local community. He said ZHS is already preparing for next fall.
