Zanesville Hosts the Longest Running Pottery Show

ZANESVILLE, OH- The Holiday Inn Express in Zanesville is hosting a unique three day show for the Pottery Lovers group.
The group which consists of pottery enthusiasts meets each year in July. The show is the longest running pottery gathering and draws in people from all over the United States and other countries.
“Pottery Lovers started over 60 years ago and we started basically as a group that just got together to show each other what we bought, because of course the history in Zanesville is extremely rich for pottery and many of these people who collected pottery would get together to show things and this event grew from that believe it or not, so way back in the 1950’s this started and it continues today,” said Patti Bourgeois, the Pottery Lovers Vice President.
Admission to the show is free. All you have to do is show up to the Holiday Inn Express on Spring Street and visit the many rooms containing pottery.
“People sell, and people come from outside and come in and out of our rooms which is a very unusual kind of show because typically shows are in one venue room, we happen to have a different way of doing that and it’s actually kind of fun, you get to go in and you can talk with a vendor personally, there are people here who have been in the business, I’ve been in the business 35 years, that know a lot, I’m not an expert, I learn something every day which makes this very fun,” said Bourgeois.
Tomorrow the show will conclude at 4 p.m. For more information on the Pottery Lovers group, you can visit their website at PotteryLovers.org.
