Zanesville Memorial Concert Band Summer Concert Series Dates

ZANESVILLE,Ohio-The Zanesville Memorial Concert Band has announced the dates for their summer concert series, Sunday, June 5th, 19th and July 3rd, 17th and 31st.

The first concert will highlight more than 50 area high school musicians. Cambridge High School Band Director Ricky Harvey will serve as the conductor.

“We’ve had a piece commissioned together with the local high schools memorializing the two students that were tragically lost in a car accident from Morgan’s band,” Memorial Concert Band President Chad Stemm said.

The bands will perform on their own and then all together. This year there will be a piece commissioned by consortium of area organizations, including all 9 MVL schools along with Zanesville High School, Cambridge High, Muskingum University, and ZMCB will be performed on June 5th.

“We have these free concerts set up in the summer, they can come down to the river or if it rains Secrest Auditorium. The patriotic concert at Secrest Auditorium is free. Come. We’ll have a great show bring the kids. Bring a lawn chair if we’re outside and enjoy some free music. It’s a very good performance,” Stemm said.

Concerts are at Zane’s Landing Park will start at 7 p.m. The rain site is Secrest Auditorium. For more information, visit zmbc.org.
