Zanesville Memorial Concert Band to Kick Off 101st Season

ZANESVILLE, OH – Get ready for a toe-tapping good time at Zane’s Landing Park this weekend.

The Zanesville Memorial Concert Band is excited to kick off its 101st season with a concert titled “Community Spirit” on Sunday, June 2nd. This special event will feature a mix of music, including classical, pop, jazz and more.

“We’ll feature a wide variety of music, as well as our high school honors band, which is a tradition at our first concert. The Memorial Band will play, and then the high school honors band will play, then we’ll combine together for the last three selections,” Zanesville Memorial Concert Band Artistic Director David Turrill said.

Join the band at 7 PM to celebrate over a century of musical tradition and community spirit. Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair to enjoy the music comfortably. Admission to the concert is free.

“This is pretty amazing. Last year, we saw our 100th season and we did a lot of research. There was a lot of energy, and we even had a brand-new piece written for the occasion. It’s pretty awesome to think that we’re starting the next 100 years. Of course, we won’t be around for that, but it’s pretty neat,” Turrill said.

Mark your calendars for the next concert on June 16th, titled “Looney Tunes.”
