Zanesville Memorial Concert Band Wraps Up Season

The Zanesville Memorial Concert band wrapped up its summer season this evening.

The final concert featured a very special guest, from the President’s United States Marine Corps Band and an Ohio Composer theme.

“We have somebody who is a composer of band music from Ohio come and direct the group on the pieces that they have written,” said Assistant Director of ZMCB Janine Schmeltzer. “This year we have First Lieutenant Ryan Nowlin. ”

Schmeltzer said the summer was a great one and they’re already looking ahead.

“Well I can’t believe it’s already the end of the season but it’s been a really good season and we’ll probably start in the next month preparing for next summer,” said Schmeltzer.

The next time you’ll catch the concert band out and about will be at OUZ’s next commencement ceremony.
