Zanesville Meth Lab Bust
The fight against meth hits high gear Monday in Zanesville.
Zanesville Police Chief Kenneth Miller said around 12:30 Monday afternoon detectives staked out the residence at 1030 State Street for a suspect wanted on drug charges in Perry County.
Chief Miller said after being on scene for approximately 15 minutes, detectives spotted the wanted suspect. The detectives called marked units in to make the arrest on Jerry Melrose jr.
“The joint drug unit had received information that there was a one pot cook going on at this address,” Miller said. “It was also an address of a wanted subject out of Perry County that they had charges on.”
After receiving consent to enter the home, detectives say they discovered six one pot meth cooks. According to Miller, one cook was in progress at the time of the seizure. Melrose faces manufacturing and possession charges. There was also another suspect in the home at the time of the raid. That suspect has been released pending further investigation.
