Zanesville Murder Suspect Arrested In Florida

A Zanesville murder suspect who has been on the loose – is now in police custody.   Zanesville Police Detective Ric Roush says that 21-year-old Joey Hampton was arrested this morning in Manatee County, Florida near Bradenton.  Hampton was wanted in the shooting death of 21-year-old Dante Wolford in the parking lot of Dairy Mart on Pine Street in September. Roush says Hampton was arrested without incident by the United States Marshal’s Service along with the Florida Regional Task Force.  Hampton is currently being held in Manatee County and will face an extradition hearing in the next few days.  Detective Roush says if Hampton waives extradition, he will be transported back to Zanesville by ZPD to face charges.  Hampton is facing one count of aggravated murder.
