Zanesville Museum of Art Celebrates 90 Years With a Block Party

Block Party 2026

ZANESVILLE, OH – A local art museum is getting ready for a Block Party this weekend.

To celebrate their 90th anniversary, the Zanesville Museum of Art will be hosting a ‘Block’ Party from 1 to 4PM on Sunday, August 23rd, with activities planned for the whole family.

Missy Elliot, the Development Director, says it’s Lego themed and attendees will have the chance to build some of their own creations in the Lego Building Contest and check out displays that are made entirely with Lego pieces from the Ohio Lego Users Group.

“It is synonymous with the Lego theme that we’re doing and everybody loves Legos.” Elliot said. “But it shows that we’re building forward and it’s also commemorating where we’ve already come from.”

There will also be a Touch a Truck Contest, a Lego station where kids can let their imaginations run free, a trivia game, and a scavenger hunt.

Danielle Knox, a Board Member at the Museum, says this event serves as a way for everyone to get a hands-on experience while having fun at a Museum.

“I hope that they leave with a new connection with the Museum.” Knox said. “There’s lots of activities that we have planned for them to experience something different at the Museum. I hope that they leave feeling the energy of the 90th Celebration.”
