Zanesville native presents big plans to Muskingum County Commissioners

Zanesville, Ohio- A Zanesville native hopes to bring tourism into Southeast Ohio.

Owner of D-G Welding and Design David Griesmyer met with Muskingum County Commissioners to unveil big plans to bring an outdoor art gallery pinned the “Corridor of Art” here to Muskingum County.

“It’s going to be a series of sculptures, giant sculptures, that are going to be placed every so many miles along 60 between Zanesville all they way down to Marietta, and then expanding out from McConnelsville to the Wilds and then going down towards Athens from McConnelsville.”

Griesmyer explained his plans on the first sculpture that would be placed along the Muskingum River.

“Our first installation that we are already working on is a 90 foot long sculpture of a school of fish. Each fish is anywhere between 17 to 20 feet long, these fish are massive, but what’s going to happen is these fish are going to be up on steel tubes, posts, 20 feet up in the air looking like they are swimming down the side of the Muskingum River.”

Griesmyer hopes to involve local communities and schools with the project
