Updated: Zanesville Police are investigating a body found at Travel Inn

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- The Zanesville Police Department is investigating after a body is found in a room at the Travel Inn hotel on 6th Street.

The Zanesville Fire Department responded to a call around 11:20 this morning for a room on fire and found the body upon entrance. Chief Tony Coury said it may have been a suicide.

“Had a little difficulty making entry into the room, but once we got in the guys did a search and they found a body,” said Chief Eric Waltemire. “There is a deceased individual in the room.”

Waltemire said smoke could be smelled in neighboring rooms, but there was no damage. There were no other injuries reported.
