ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Zanesville Noon Rotary Club had a beautiful Sunday morning to hold their 2nd annual Hunger 5-K Run today.

The race took place on the Ohio University Zanesville Campus, as runners and walkers enjoyed the tree lined track. Zanesville Noon Rotary Club Chairman, Everett Jackson thought the race was a success, and he was really happy with the turn out.

Everett said “Excellent, 4 O’ clock I got up and make sure the rain was going to be turned off and then after that everything was just wonderful. We had a good turnout of Rotarians and probably over 100 participants.”

Zanesville Rotary Club President, Kyle Witucky said that it is a great fundraiser for their club. Witucky said it goes along with the Rotary Club’s healthy body, healthy mind program. A program where they delivered bags of food to 230 elementary school children in Zanesville city schools. Witucky added the community’s support will help the Rotary Club put on more events like today.

“It’s important for our club to have fundraisers like this and also the 12 days of Christmas and the rose sales we have every year to support the project that our club is involved in from healthy body, healthy minds, to the children Christmas party that we have. We purchased books recently for the family reading festival and a variety of other projects we have locally here in our community. Witucky added.

The participants in the 5K really enjoyed their time today, and the Rotary Club wanted to thank everyone that came out and showed their support.
