Zanesville Train Enthusiasts Spectate on S. Sixth Street

Model Train

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – This weekend train enthusiasts come together in downtown Zanesville at a model railroad open house to see art and science merge into meticulous model railroads.

Brian Harrier, president for the Zane Trace National Trail Model Railroad Club says building each scene is a detailed and lengthy process.

“We’ve been up here for about six years now we’ve gained a lot of progress. Some of the scenes have been taking quite a while — the track goes pretty quick. The scenary can take quite a while. Lot of hours to get it as detailed as it is””

One junior member Josh Gooden says the best part of each build is seeing the final outcome.

“I like it just because — it’s — it’s trains and you get to do all the creativity stuff with it and then you — after you’re done you can look at it and say wow — that’s — you did that”

Admission for the event was free — donations went toward costs to keep the club operational.
