Zanesville Woman Sentenced in Fatal Crash
A Zanesville woman who pled guilty to reckless homicide and aggravated vehicular assault appeared in court Monday to learn her fate. The Muskingum County Prosecutor’s Office says that 24-year-old Heather Bowers went before Common Pleas Judge Mark Fleegle and was sentenced to four years in prison and she had her driver’s license suspended for five years. The Highway Patrol says on November 15th of 2013, Bowers was traveling west on County Road 66, failed to negotiate a curve and drove off the right side of the road striking several trees. The Patrol says one of the passengers in the vehicle, Michael Allen Miller Jr. of Zanesville died in the crash. Judge Fleegle dropped three charges of aggravated vehicular homicide and two counts of O-V-I at sentencing.
