Zanesville Woman Sentenced on Felonious Assault Charge

A Zanesville woman who seriously injured a woman during a bar fight last spring is sentenced in court Monday.

38-year-old Tonya Alexander appeared before Muskingum County Common Pleas Court Judge Kelly Cottrill and was sentenced to four years in prison on a felonious assault charge.
 

Assistant Prosecutor Bob Smith says on April 24th of this year Alexander was leaving an after hours club on West Main Street when she got into an altercation with another woman in the parking lot.
 

He says Alexander bit the woman’s lip leaving her severely disfigured.

Alexander was also ordered to pay restitution.
