Zanesville’s Got the Talent it Takes

After weeks of promotions and advertising, America’s Got Talent hit Colony Square Mall Saturday.

The show was looking for the next big star in Zanesville. Performers ranged in talents from singing to playing various kinds of instruments. Contestants have been practicing for years.

"Since I was a little, little kid. My mom use to video tape me on Christmas when I was like 3 singing Jingle Bells," said Contestant Levi Funk.

Hundreds took time out of their Saturday to watch the performers and their various acts. For some though, the competition is a chance to make a name for themselves.

"I sang a lot of little shows in my hometown and stuff like that and I just want to get my name out there and hope everyone likes me and hope to get recognized someday," said Contestant Cody Johnson.

Together around 100 people tried out for a chance to follow their dreams. Those who were not able to perform live sent dvds to the show.
