ZHS Robotics Team State Championship Winners

The Zanesville High School Robotics team competed in the State Robotics Competition this weekend and took home the championship win.

The team returned home Sunday from Marion after its Vex Robotics State Championship win. Over the weekend they showcased their superior robotics designing and building as their robot was put to the test against other robotics teams.

“It’s pretty great to be able to represent the school, and be able to just bring home a state championship on behalf of Zanesville,” said Brandon Douglas.

Douglas is a senior and the oldest member of the Zanesville High School robotics team. However, for most of the members this is their first year competing. The same goes for faculty advisor Evan McCullough, who is extremely impressed by his young team.

“They’ve really done a lot just totally on their own. They’ve done a lot of learning just completely by themselves and I’m really proud of the product they’ve come up with, and the way they carry themselves at the events and just the high level of performance that they’ve expected of themselves since day one.”

On April 15th the Zanesville Robotics team will head to Lousville, Kentucky to compete in the Vex Robotics World Championship.
