ZPD: Armed Robbery Suspect in Custody

The Zanesville Police Department says one man is in custody after an armed robbery. Police Chief Kenneth Miller says just before 8:30 Thursday night a man with a gun walked into the Moto Mart at 2341 Maple Avenue and made off an undetermined amount of money. Miller says officers responded to the scene while other patrol units starting checking possible escape routes. The Chief say one officer saw a vehicle matching the description of the suspect on West Main Street and a stop was made on Pine Street. Chief Miller says a suspect matching the description of the robber was taken into custody and a weapon along with money was recovered from his vehicle. The name of the suspect won’t be released until he’s formally charged.
