ZPD: One Man In Custody After Shooting

The Zanesville Police Department is investigating a Monday night shooting. Detective Sergeant Harry Taylor says one man was shot in an apartment at 11-16 Ridge Avenue. Taylor says the victim is 38-years-old and was transported to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg. His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening. Police say Tuesday morning police took a 22-year-old male into custody from a Mead Street home. He is currently being held in the Zanesville City Jail pending formal charges. Taylor says the motive for the shooting appears to be robbery. The incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call Zanesville Police at (740) 455-0700.
