ZPD Searching for 10-Year-Old Boy
UPDATE (8:30 p.m.) : The Zanesville Police Department reports the missing child has been located and is in good condition.
The Zanesville Police Department is asking for your help locating a 10-year-old boy.
Sgt. Jon McCoy says at 4:11 p.m. authorities received a call from the child’s foster home on Sunrise Avenue saying that the child was threatening suicide and wrapping a cord around his neck. The boy took off on foot on Hessler toward the woods in the Dillon Road area.
Officers and crews from the Zanesville Fire Department searched the woods and the area up to Dillon. McCoy says the child suffers from a disability that makes his mental capacity about that of a six-year-old.
The boy was last seen wearing grey sweatpants, a blue tank-top and tennis shoes. He also has brown, shaggy hair.
McCoy is asking that anyone in this area search their property for any signs of the boy. If you have any information on his whereabouts, you are asked to call the Zanesville Police Department.
