ZPD: Shooting Investigated at Dairy Mart

The Zanesville Police Department is investigating an overnight shooting. Detective says it happened Wednesday night around 11:30 at the Dairy Mart at 714 Pine Street. Police say a female bystander was struck when a suspect fired four or five gunshots. Police do not know why the shots were fired. The victim, in her early 60’s, was transported to Genesis Hospital and later transferred to Grant Medical Center in Columbus. Her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening. Police say the suspect fled the scene and the incident remains under investigation.
