ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Zanesville police are cautioning motorists about an intersection they said is becoming increasingly more dangerous.

Police said they have been called to multiple accidents at the intersection of Taylor Street and Dresden Road. And several have involved alcohol.

“The ongoing problem is Taylor at Dresden coming from Linden Avenue. A lot of them are late night accidents. A lot of them are impaired drivers. They are coming up to the intersection going too fast. And failing to realize there is a stop sign there. It really is just a matter of time before someone kills someone at this intersection,” said Captain Tony Coury.

Captain Coury said crashes that occur on that roadway are typically severe and involve property damage.

“We need to do something to bring to the attention of the driver to slow them down. To make sure he or she knows to stop. And we need to protect those that live in that area. Not only their property but the individual,” said Coury.

Coury encourages those who want to make this intersection safer to attend city council meetings, speak to the public service director, or write letters showing your concern.
