Zwelling Arrested in Overdose Death Case

Zanesville, OH- 41-year-old Ross Zwelling is being held in the Zanesville City Jail on a $1 million dollar bond following his arrest in connection to an overdose death investigation.

Zanesville Police Department said Zwelling faces charges of murder with a firearm specification, involuntary manslaughter, corrupting another with drugs, trafficking in drugs with a firearm specification and having a weapon under disability.

Authorities said on November 28, just before 7am Zanesville Police got a call about a man overdosing and not breathing at 38 Green Street. The 29-year-old was taken to Genesis Hospital where he later died.

Zanesville Police said during the initial investigation drug related items were in plain view. Officers said Zwelling was at the scene and taken into custody.

A search warrant of the residence uncovered drug related items and a firearm.
