ZANESVILLE, Ohio – It’s only 12 days until election day and Ohio’s Democratic candidates made a stop in Zanesville.

With elections so close, Chairman of the Democratic Party David Pepper wants to encourage voters to really look at what issues candidates stand behind and what they are fighting for.

“Maybe the most important issue in politics in this county and around the state is health care,” said Pepper. “Our candidates are fighting for affordable, accessible health care, we’re fighting to protect those with pre-existing conditions.”

District 6 candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives Shawna Roberts said it’s tremendously important for everyone to vote and that voting does make a difference.

“When the people vote, the people win,” said Roberts. “You need to be able to exercise democracy, if you don’t vote, we don’t have democracy.”

Republican candidates also made a stop in Zanesville this evening, and we’ll have more on that story tonight at 11.
