ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Friday the American Cancer Society celebrated it’s 15th annual “Fools on the Roof” fundraiser.

Relay For Life Community Manager Jonathan Schuler said fools on the roof is jail and bail concept. Participates are placed on the roof and can’t come down until they meet their pledge goal. Participates made calls, sent out text messages, and took to social media to hit their goal.

“The goal of having fools on the roof is to raise money for the American Cancer Society and Relay For Life. We don’t have a set goal for this event. But we have a set goal for Relay For Life in general. And this is just a big stepping stone towards that goal of $38,500,” said Relay For Life Community Manager Jonathan Schuler.

The fools on the roof received lunch and coffee for participating this year. Schuler said not every day you can hang out on a roof and make an impact on cancer.

“Fundraising for cancer is important. The more money we raise the quicker we can get a cure. We have researchers all over the country including as close as Columbus. And they are doing great work,” said Schuler.

Schuler said the more we fund raise the quicker we can find a cure.
