Maysville Holds Pep Rally Ahead of State Final 4
Muskingum Co. It’s quite the time for Maysville High School
The Panthers have their biggest game in over 50 years right around the corner. The boys basketball team is headed to the OHSAA Final 4 for the first time since 1971.
Thursday, the school held a pep rally in anticipation of the team’s trip to Dayton this weekend.
The team has been quite the story after back-to-back double-digit point comebacks in their previous two outings to get to this point. The team couldn’t help but reflect on what has gotten the Panthers to Dayton.
“I think that’s a true testament to my teammates,” said Senior Alex Bobb. “Right before I went out on that last play, every single one of them went out there and told me I was going to hit that shot. I mean it’s nothing but love from my teammates. I think that gives me all the confidence in the world.”
Assistant Coach Jared Cox added, “I just want to say two things. We have two of the greatest weapons going to Dayton. The belief that these guys have in themselves and each other and you guys, thank you. See you in Dayton.”
Maysville plays Shelby at 2pm on Saturday. If you can’t make it to the game you can listen to it on Z92. Pregame starts at 1pm.
