17th Annual CYF Coat Drive

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Muskingum County Community Foundation announced the details of its 17th annual Community Youth Foundation Coat Drive.

MCCF CEO Brian Wagner explained how people can donate their gently used items along with how the winter clothing will be distributed back into the community.

“There’s boxes at various locations around the community,” Wagner said. “We’re in the process of getting all those boxes out now. So, be patient with us if you don’t see it at your favorite location. But then we will be asking the public to drop those items off. And then that runs until November 8th. And then we’ll recollect those boxes back in, sort the coats and make sure they get distributed.”

Wagner said that many of the local, nonprofit, support organizations are very good at communicating to the MCCF the necessary items and sizes they need to provide for their clientele.

“Yeah, any of the nonprofits that are interested, again that do direct service, is your Salvation Army, your Eastside Community Ministry, any of those organizations that are looking for coats, please give us a call as well. And we’ll see if we can get you on that list to receive some of these items. Of course, we’ve been very successful over the years with literally hundreds of coats collected and it will just obviously go by supply and demand but we’re hoping the community will be very generous this year to help provide a coat to those that don’t have one,” Wagner said.

Collection boxes will be placed at many of Muskingum County’s banks, libraries and high schools. For more information, you can visit mccf.org.
