18 Vehicle Crash Shuts Down I-70
An 18 vehicle crash shut down Interstate 70 in Licking County Saturday afternoon.
The Granville Post of the State Highway Patrol said it happened just before 4 p.m. on I-70 west of State Route 37. A semi tractor trailer was heading eastbound on I-70 when it changed lanes in the path of a Toyota Corolla.
The extremely low visibility from a whiteout caused 16 more cars to crash. The collision closed the eastbound lanes of I-70 for about three hours.
Several people were taken to local hospitals with non life-threatening injuries. The accident remains under investigation.
