Intricate handcrafted quilt earns ‘Best of Show’ at Zanesville quilt show

ZANESVILLE, OH- The Pieceable Quilters Guild Quilt Show at the Zanesville High School wrapped up another successful year.
The two-day event featured an extensive display of quilts, a quilters boutique, homemade food, demonstrations, a vendor marketplace, and a beautiful raffle quilt. The highlight of the show was the announcement of the Best of Show winner, Shanon Yawkey, whose quilt captivated the judges
“I’ve been working on this quilt for seven years now, it’s all hand English paper pieced and hand quilted, I love working with my hands and watching the patterns develop, it is an original pattern,” said Shanon Yawkey, the Best of Show Quilt Winner.
It was Yawkey’s intricate design and meticulous handwork that earned her the top honor.
“It was very overwhelming, very exciting, you know I hoped it would do well but to win best of show was just amazing, you know there’s 13,899 half inch hexies in there so it’s been quite the journey,” said Yawkey.
The Pieceable Quilters Guild Quilt Show is held every two years and will return in 2026. Those interested in learning more about the guild or participating in future events can visit their Facebook page.
