2 Arrested in Connection with Missing Zanesville Man’s Death

Two suspects are arrested in the death of a Zanesville man, who went missing more than a week ago.

19-year-old Tyler Hardin was reported missing by his family on July 10th, which is when authorities say they believe the murder occurred.

Muskingum County Prosecutor, Mike Haddox, says 19-year-old Heather Daniel Nowlin of Zanesville is charged with one count of complicity to aggravated murder.

"In this case, it’s alleged that Heather Nowlin aided and abetted in her husband in committing the aggravated murder, " says Haddox.

Heather was taken into custody Sunday morning. 24-year-old Terrell M. Nowlin of Columbus was also arrested late Sunday night at a Columbus apartment but on one count of aggravated murder with a gun specification. Both charges carry the possibility of a life sentence.

Sheriff Matt Lutz says his office was contacted by the Zanesville Police Department late Saturday night, surrounding the matter.

"They had obtained some information on where Tyler’s body could be and possibly some suspicious circumstances around that, " says Lutz.

The sheriff’s office still cannot release the exact location of where Hardin’s body was found nor can they talk about a motive. Lutz did say there are other persons of interest in this case.

Heather is being held in the Muskingum County Jail and her case will go to a grand jury this week. Terrell is being held in the Franklin County Jail before being transferred to Muskingum County within the next few days. His case goes before a grand jury next week. Haddox says additional charges may be filed.
