2015 Pie in the Face Fundraiser
Children’s Services and Christ’s Table are preparing for their 4th annual Pie in the Face event.
Local celebrities, including Mayor Jeff Tilton and Sheriff Matt Lutz, will take a pie to the face this Thursday afternoon, but they’re taking it all for a good cause. A drawing was held Tuesday to find out who would be tossing those pies at their favorite “celeb.”
“This year we’re up to I think about 23 pie faces and some different agencies have joined in,” said Steering Committee Member, June Smith. “We have the Salvation Army that will set up and sell food. Christ’s Table is always involved and the fire department will have a firetruck there to pick up food.”
This year Smith said they will be raffling off baskets from different places in the community and hopes people will come down and support the cause.
“It’s one of our most fun events, so everyone likes it,” Smith said. “We have the Salvation Army bringing in about 150 chairs and so people can come down on their lunch hours and sit and watch it.”
All money raised from the event stays local and will benefit Operation Feed.
