2023 Muskingum University Suspect Grayson Pleads Guilty

NEW CONCORD, OH – Over two years after a tragic and stunning scene shocked Muskingum University, fate has turned, and a case rolls on.
29-year old Franklin Grayson of Jacksonville, Florida has now pleaded guilty to multiple charges related to a shooting in 2023 on Muskingum University’s ‘Mose Morehead Field’.
According to the Muskingum County prosecutor’s office, Grayson pleads guilty to attempted murder, four counts of felonious assault, inducing panic, two counts of improperly discharging a firearm in a school safety zone, carrying a concealed weapon, and tampering with evidence.
Authorities responded to a call in March of 2023 of an Olivet College baseball player, who suffered from a gunshot from Grayson following a game against the Muskies.
While the suspect was later released from treatment with non-life threatening injuries, Grayson was soon after arrested and charged.
He could face more than 35 years in prison. A sentencing date is still to be determined.
