2024 Muskingum County Student Art Exhibition
ZANESVILLE, OH – The Zanesville Museum of Art is excited to spotlight the creativity of Muskingum County’s youngest artists with its annual K-12 Student Art Exhibition.
Featuring over 300 pieces this year, the display includes artwork from students across various schools in the county, celebrating their artistic achievements.
“This is our chance as the museum to shine a light on art education, how passionately we support art education, and the thing it does for young people such as cultivate critical thinking skills, innovative thinking, and also persistence and tolerance and empathy. Art education cultivates so many skills that are useful as an adult in any field that they go into,” Education Coordinator, Misty Johnson said.
The exhibition’s opening ceremony will be held this Sunday, April 21st, at the ZMA. Festivities begin at 12 PM with a performance by John Glenn’s JG Company. The event will include refreshments and an award ceremony at 1 PM, honoring the outstanding contributions of these young artists.
“Many people have never been here, and they don’t know the wealth of resources that we have to share with the community. It’s also just a lovely tradition. Some parents had artwork in the show when they were kids, and now they’re sharing that with their children.”
If you’re interested in submitting artwork for next year’s exhibition, or for more information, visit the ZMA website.
