Columbia Gas goes pink for Breast Cancer Awareness

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – A local company decided a few years ago to openly support Breast Cancer Awareness.
Columbia Gas of Ohio started a few years ago painting their nine Excavator buckets pink for the month of October in honor of it being breast cancer awareness month. Zaneville’s Field Operations Leader, Scott Settles, said that this has helped their clients to be more comfortable with them.
“It adds a lot more trust you know it gives us the conversation; you know you start talking with folks that get maybe more open to you for whatever reason we may be there,” said Settles. “It just helps create [and] build a good communication tool, trust factor.”
Settles also said this can be used as a reminder to the clients.
“We’ve had a few of our employees you know effected by that bad disease,” said Settles. “You know we want to make sure everybody that doesn’t have it you know kind of helps maybe remind them to get their exams done.”
Zanesville’s Columbia Gas is not the only one participating in this support Cambridge, Coshocton, Newark, and New Lexington are also showcasing their pink attire.
