The directors position is now available and according to Board of Directors Vice President, Alice Graham, they contracted a woman whose retired from the Ohio Library Counsel to help find and select a person for the position.

“Sandy has retired after 22 years of service and she left us in a really good place,” said Graham. “You know we have a really strong community support from our library because of that we’ve had 23 applicants who are interested in our position in the library.”

Graham said that the library system has grown a great deal in the last few years and they’d like someone to help the library keep growing.

“In our director we want somebody who’s going to be able to continue the collaborations we already have within the community,” said Graham. “We have a lot of good programs that go back and forth between the library and other community sources. That is going to be a very important thing to do as well as being a good steward of the public money that we get from the state of Ohio.

The Muskingum County Library System hope’s to have a new director selected and put into position by the first of the year.
