Genesis Honors Sieber with Award

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – A local man was honored today for his community service.

Genesis Healthcare System honored Tom Sieber as the recipient for the 2016 Genesis Community Service Award. Geraldine Zylinsky nominated Sieber and has known Sieber for years through Zylinsky’s volunteer work at the hospital.

“He has become even busier and I’ve always said that when you get one Sieber you get them both, that his wife Eva, they’re so busy due for different non-profits that I thought he was very deserving,” said Zylinsky.

Tom Sieber’s wife Eva Sieber is a previous recipient of the community service award and together the couple volunteers for Goodwill, Muskingum County Cancer Society, Ohio Hospital Association Board and countless other organizations.

“It’s a family affair and we’re glad to certainly be apart of Zanesville and hope we’ve contributed to making it a better place to live,” said Sieber. “Just to be a part of that group of individuals who have won this award is very humbling and I’m very pleased with it.”

Sieber was the C.E.O. of Genesis Healthcare System until his retirement in 2007.
