Election results are in and the Muskingum County Commissioners are welcoming in a new commissioner.

Mollie Crooks beat Incumbent Commissioner Jerry Lavy by over 7,000 votes. All three commissioners are now republicans however, Crooks said it’s not about the party, but how the commissioners can serve the community.

“I’m just so excited and so enthusiastic to get started and to see where we can take this county,” said Crooks. “When I get in I don’t get in for the short run and I don’t get in lightly; it’s all or nothing and I’m very blessed.”

Crooks was the Executive Director for Big Brothers Big Sisters for 16 years. Crooks said she will always be apart of Big Brothers Big Sisters as a supportive role and in any way they need her.

“If there’s any bitter sweet moment it’s that I will be stepping down as the director of Big Brothers Big Sisters, but although I step down I will never step away,” said Crooks.

Crooks said thank you to everyone who supported and helped her in this successful  beginning as Muskingum County Commissioner.
