Commissioners receive Resolution

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – January 26, 2017Â the Muskingum County Executive from the Ohio Deferred Compensation Program met with the Muskingum County Commissioners.
Jason Brown presented the county commissioners with a resolution from the Ohio Deferred Compensation Board of Directors. There are over 1800 employers throughout Ohio and Muskingum County was one employer chosen for this resolution.
“They had a 19% increase in participation in 2016, which is very significant. So the board wanted to recognize their efforts on that,” Brown said. “There were six resolutions presented by the board to various employers throughout the state in 2016.”
The county commissioners and Ohio Deferred Compensation initiated this additional retirement income program for county employees in 2011 and re-visited the program again in 2013 and 2016. Between the three different years over a 110 county employees enrolled in the program.
Brown said this program is for the county employees who wish to have another financial resource as well as their public pension.
“Muskingum County has been very receptive in promoting the program and helping their employees have an additional resource to save for retirement,” said Brown.
Brown said the Muskingum County Commissioners and The Human Resource Director have been phenomenal resources to work with and he enjoys helping the county employees save for retirement.
