‘Railroading in the Rockies’

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – You may have seen a recent commercial on WHIZ about ‘Railroading in the Rockies’ with host Doug Pickrell.

Holiday Vacations will take place July 14, 2017 through July 23, 2017 and today the Tour Director, Diane Roberts presented this years vacation information at the Holiday Inn Express located on Spring street in Zanesville.

Roberts has been a Tour Director for 24 years and she genuinely enjoys being a tour director especially when it comes to the Canadian Rockies.

“I go places that I never would dream that I would go, beautiful places like the Canadian Rockies,” Roberts said. “I also get to go around the country and meet wonderful people in all kinds of states.”

Roberts said the tour will go through Seattle, Victoria, Vancouver, Jasper, Banff, and end in Calgary Canada.

“Each time its incredible feeling seeing the mountains on either side of you,” Roberts said. “The lakes are glacier fed lakes, so they have the beautiful turquoise colors and it’s just an incredible feeling. I never ever tire of seeing it. I’ve been to Switzerland, Austria, Alaska, but I think the Canadian Rockies are one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been.”

According to Roberts each person will need a passport booklet that is valid through six months following the vacation. Each passenger will receive instructions on currency exchange, but not to worry for there will be a tour director who will attend and take care of everything so the passengers may relax.

“We do have to keep moving because we’re going to be going quite a distance, but they definitely have free time in all of these areas to just thoroughly enjoy what each city has to offer and then of course the Rockies itself,” said Roberts.
