CAMBRIDGE, Ohio – Today 32 local businesses came together to play golf.

“We have really a lot of vendors and local sponsors that support this,” Brooks said. “It really helps us raise money for the hospital we’ve raised probably between $25,000 to $30,000 at this years event. So we’re very happy with that.”
Every year the Southeastern Med Auxiliary puts the money raised at the annual golf challenge towards different projects, programs, and equipment.
All proceeds raised at the 2017 Golf Challenge are going towards the Xenex Full Spectrum Germ-Zapping Robot. This robot helps fight against hospital acquired infections by pulsing an Xenex U.V.C. light to damage the walls of the cells so the germs can no longer multiply.
“We’ve been using it in the hospital really to disinfect the patient rooms,” Brooks said. “It adds about an additional five minutes of cleaning time to the rooms and right now our house keepers are using it in the patient rooms and then in the surgical suites after hours to clean surgery.”
Brooks believes they’ve already paid about $25,000 towards the retail price of $100,000 this year.
