26th Annual Holiday Choir Concert

High school choir students in Muskingum County are preparing for their Annual Holiday Concert.

This year will mark the 26th Annual Muskingum Valley Educational Service Center’s Holiday Choir Concert. The concert will be held this Saturday at Secrest Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. Tri-valley high school choir director, Ann Briggs, says the concert is a great way for choir students from different high schools to come together.

"Each school will sing three pieces on their own and then at the very end all six choirs will be on the stage at once, it’s a very colorful array with the different robes and costumes, uniforms that they have on. And, they will sing, I think it’s seven pieces at the end. Each choir director directs one and I get to direct the last two this year, the "Silent Night" and "We Wish You A Merry Christmas."

Tri-Valley choir president, Lindzey Prouty says their choir has been looking forward to this event all year.

"I’m excited, i love the choir and we prepare pretty well. We get our music for Secrest at the beginning of the year, and we work all year up until, like, the day before the concert preparing."

You can purchase tickets online at the Secrest Auditorium website or you can buy them at the door the night of the concert.
