
Norman E. Brooks, 79, of South Zanesville, left this life and entered the Kingdom of Heaven on Thur. April 5, 2018 at 9:53 p.m. He was born on Sept. 6, 1938 in South Zanesville, a son of the late George and Francis Brooks. He retired from Conn’s Potato Chips after 38 years of service. He was a member of the South Zanesville Unity Church of the Nazarene, the South Zanesville Alumni Association. He was an avid supporter of the Cleveland Indians and Browns, The Ohio State Buckeyes, and the Maysville Panthers. He was inducted into the Perry County Baseball Hall of Fame.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years Arlene Brooks. Sons Norman (Lynn) Brooks, Mark (Cheryl) Brooks, Steve (Kendra) Brooks, Bill (Tammie) Garlinger. One brother Raymond (Shirley) Brooks. One sister Ann (Dick) Sprankel. Ten grandchildren Seth (Jennie) Brooks, Ryan Brooks, Marlee Brooks, Luke (Shelby) Brooks, Abbey (Adam) Pattison, Brittni (Noah) Martinez, Ariel (Adam) Davis, Jeff (Christina) Doyle, Jenny Doyle, and Amanda McNutt. Twelve great-grandchildren with two more on the way.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Marlee Brooks. Three brothers Delbert, Basil, and Walt.
Friends may call from 2-6 p.m. Sun. April 8, 2018 at WILLIAM THOMPSON & SON FUNERAL HOME 5765 Gladstone Drive White Cottage. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Mon. Apr. 9, 2018 at the South Zanesville Unity Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Walt Gessner officiating, assisted by Larry Harper. Burial will be in Zanesville Memorial Park.
