29th Annual Angel Tree Benefit closes curtains

Angel Tree Benefit

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Sunday afternoon, the Renner Theatre opened its doors to lines of people waiting to attend the Angel Tree Benefit.

Director of the show Richard Tolliver says the benefit’s 29th year had a generous audience.

“We are, of course, sold out but we’ve had a nice turn out. People have been very generous and they’ve laughed and cried and enjoyed the show. So it’s been a pretty good run.

Proceeds from the show go toward Christmas presents for 60 children on the Zanesville Salvation Army Angel Tree.

“This is our 29th year and what we do is put on a show every year and it’s strictly a donation to get in and we take everything from those donations. In conjunction with that we also hold a large raffle. We have 104 great prizes. And that money goes directly to the kids on the Angel Tree but we don’t give the Salvation Army money. Our people actually go and shop. We have 60 angels that we will buy for before tomorrow afternoon’s done.”
