2nd Annual Guernsey County Dog Shelter Gala

CAMBRIDGE, OH – The 2nd Annual Guernsey County Dog Shelter Gala is just around the corner.

This annual event has become a cornerstone of support for the Guernsey County Dog Shelter. This year, they’re aiming to make an even bigger impact. The goal is to raise funds to build a new shelter that will better serve the community and the animals in need.

“This is our 2nd annual. We hosted one last year and it was awesome,” Sergeant Karla Kerns shared. “The community backed and supported us when it comes to this new shelter that’s truly needed for our county. So, this year we’re hosting another one. It’s going to be March 13th at the Pritchard Laughlin here in Cambridge and tickets are $50, doors open at 5:30.”

The event will feature a catered dinner, Theo’s Pies, a cash bar, and several exciting raffles, including a reverse raffle and 50/50 raffle. There will also be silent and live auctions, with all proceeds going directly to the new dog shelter project in Guernsey County.

“The new shelter is very important to us here and for our community. The building that we’re operating out of right now was purchased by the Guernsey County commissioners in like 1950 for the purpose of the dog shelter and as you can probably see, the renovations and things have been very minimal, the building is just kind of deteriorating around us here.”

The goal of the gala is to raise enough to get the ball rolling on the new shelter. While the new shelter is a key focus, Sergeant Kerns stresses that the welfare of the animals at the current shelter remains the top priority. If you’re interested in purchasing tickets or getting involved, please call the shelter at 740-432-2219 or visit fop136.org for more details.
