
Joyce Jenkins 84 of Zanesville, was called home to the Lord on Sunday, May 20, 2018. She died as she lived; In the loving presence of her family.
Joyce was know throughout the community for her generous spirit, constant support and loyal friendship. She loved gardening, baking, and spending time with her family and beloved pets.
A lifelong resident of Zanesville, Joyce worked for Maysville School District for 26 years, serving as secretary at both Maysville Junior High School and Springfield Bell Elementary School before her retirement in 1996.
Joyce was a member of Fultonham United Methodist Church and Fultonham United Methodist Women, where she served as treasurer for 50 years.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Richard Jenkins of Zanesville; sons Randy Jenkins of the home, Roddy Jenkins of Zanesville and Rusty (Lisa) Jenkins of Thornville: and granddaughters Mandy Jenkins (Ben Fischer) of New York City, Chelsea Jenkins (Dan Woodward) of Zanesville and Kaitlin Jenkins (Andrew Wills) of Zanesville. She is also survived by her sisters Mrs Joanne (Harold) Smith of Zanesville and Carol Jean (Terry) Smith of Acworth, Ga. and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John W. and Helen Hoover.
The family wishes special thanks to Dr Raul Hernandez for his excellent care over the years.
Private services will be held at the William Thompson and Son Funeral Home with a burial at Wesley Union Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, cards can be sent to the home or donations made in Joyce’s name to the Muskingum County Animal Shelter.
