30th Annual Cake Auction Coming This Week

The 30th annual Carr Center Cake Auction is set for this Thursday and Friday in Zanesville.

Kim Hosler, Executive Director at the Carr Center said that people could drop off their cakes at 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday. She also said that they would be open throughout the day on Wednesday taking cakes and incentives until 6 p.m.

The public is welcome to come in and take a look at all of the different cakes from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday before the auction begins the following day on Thursday at 8 a.m.

“It is just an enormous community event that shows a lot of support in terms of people putting in cakes for the auction and making donations to help make the bidders step up on Thursday and Friday this week,” said Hosler.

Hosler also said that all the funds raised from the auction would go into the Carr Center youth and adult health care services. Hosler said she is expecting a lot more cakes to show up before the event begins.

“Right now we have about 380 entries for the cake auction, but we are expecting more to trickle in up until the very last hour on Wednesday when everyone is done checking in,” said Hosler.

If you cannot attend the event but would still like to stay updated on the Carr Center Cake Auction, it will be broadcasted live on AM 1240 both days, and it will also stream live on www.whiznews.com
